2021 Portuguese Grand Prix

30 April 2021 - 2 May 2021

After staging its first race late last year as part of the COVID-19 impacted Formula 1 calendar, the Algarve International Circuit in Portimão has now been confirmed as host of the third race of the 2021 season. It’s hoped that fans will be able to attend, but ticket sales have not yet begun.

Where to Watch the Action at Portimão

The undulating nature of the Algarve International Circuit means that views from most grandstands are very good. The covered Main Grandstand (with approximately 16,000 seats) offers good views of the pits and Main Straight, but ticket prices are high. An additional 56,000 grandstand seats are available at the circuit, though not all seats are expected to be available for this year’s race. Other good places to watch the action include the South Grandstand on the final corner and the Portimão stands on the low-speed Samsung Corner.

  1. I certainly like the sound of this circuit though have reservations regarding transfers to and from the circuit.
Due to my employment as a key worker and uncertainty over possible restrictions on travel or quarantine possibilities I will probably decide against attending this race.
I hope this venue will be added to the regular calendar in the near future.
