Sanya Street Circuit

About

After Beijing played host to the Chinese round on the ABB FIA Formula E calendar in season 1 and 2, mainland China made a comeback on the 2018/2019 calendar with a round in the beach resort town of Sanya.

Located on the Southern tip of China’s Hainan island, Sanya is one of the newest locations for the ABB FIA Formula E championship. Sanya is the 21st city to host a Formula E race and the 2019 Sanya E-Prix was the first Formula E race in China since Beijing in October 2015. The inaugural edition of the Sanya E-Prix took place in March 2019 and was won by Jean-Eric Vergne. The 2020 Sanya E-Prix was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic and the race was not included on the 2021 Formula E calendar.
